<description>Alemagna is a notable sweet and confectionary factory founded in Milano in 1921, by Gioacchino Alemagna (1892-1974).
Its name ruled the market for several decades in the sweet market. The first pastry store and bar was open in Piazza Duomo, before spreading all over Italy with its magnificence. Alemagna is an historical brand, which entered italian families, hystory and myth. After couple years of struggle in the 60's, passing from Motta to Nestlè's property, Alemagna is back on the market since it has been bought from Bauli S.p.A in 2009.

The project is a total re-branding plan aiming to a new high brand-positioning, being presented in the most elegant pastry shops all over Italy. I leaded the whole creative process of Corporate and Editorial, designing the logo, the pattern, the colour system, the "Milano 1921", the look &#38; feel, the catalogues, the website. I directed the photoshooting. I cooperated on the packaging design. The project has won twice the 1st Price as Best Corporate Design and Best Packaging Design at the Grand Prix Award 2010.

Role: Design Director, Graphic Designer
Agency: Carmi e Ubertis

Corporate Design: brand identity, corporate logo &#38; the graphic elements: lettering, pattern, product naming, color system.

<description>Carrera is, by far, one of the most famous italian brands in the world producing sunglasses. After two decades of fidelity
to the 80's look, I was called by MRM Worldwide to give Carrera a fresh new image, starting from designing the brand logo.

The project started from a specific type design process, considering to maintain Carrera's brand values and visual recall,
and aiming to improve readability in all size possibilities: from a billboard to a sunglasses' stick.

Besides the new brand logo, I developed the whole brand book of design and communication guidelines.: brand identity, the "C" device, the typographic system, the stationery, the advertising formats, the web applications, the video signature,
the store and "point of purchase" materials, the merchandising materials, and the application on products.

<description>Inspiration was developed from the research of a neutral yet personal typeface. It is published under the name of Hellotype. In 2009 "Inspiration" was also presented on "Italic 2.0" published by Mondadori and Aiap.

The condensed base structure makes it adaptable for huge titlings, logotypes, billboards, magazines. Inspiration also has a series of swoshes instead of the small caps glyphs. Inspiration is for free on Hellotype. Click here.

<description>In Milan’s exciting new Lambrate art district and with a second branch to follow in Berlin-Wedding, a new centre for design, artistic experimentation and refinement is about to open: Plusdesign.
Plusdesign is at once a gallery and a brand specialising in limited edition furniture and lighting. Everything we make is the work of individual artists and designers whose one point in common is an urge to experiment.

Plusdesign aims to create not just a physical space, but also a space for reflection and cross-fertilisation between the different worlds and working methods developing at a time when the distinction between artistic endeavour and design is increasingly blurred. The project is rooted in a strong yet open idea of the contemporary, allowing design and art to chime together in new ways.

<description>Mylious Johnson, apart from being an amazing drum player and one of the best now on the shows, is also a very good friend of mine. He had the chance to play with the best music characters of the last 20 years and taking their shows to another level.

My task was to create a logo for Mylious and to lead the art direction on his image, which consists in t-shirt designs, caps, base-drum graphics and many other marketing platforms.

I organized and followed the photoshooting with the photographer Stefano Cattelan. His extreme professionality and touch could shift the project of styling to a cool vibrant realism.

<description>Headroom is a brand-new music studio growing in Istanbul,Turkey, founded by Ferit Ozguner and Harun Iyicil, professional and extraordinary music producers. I had the chance to meet them and collaborate with them on this idea they had in mind. Headroom has a cool secret vibe hidden behind its doors. Istanbul is great.

<description>Branding Design Oriented is a project of Elio Carmi, together with Elena I. Wegher, thanks to Fausto Lupetti Editore (2009). The book is representative of a lifelong experience, analysis and method development in design. The book offers points of view and questions. What is a brand? Which theoric models have defined it in history? Séguéla's model or Semprini's? Sicard's or Floch's? What is an umbrella brand? When was the brand concept born?

The editorial design and the infographics are in collaboration with Elio Carmi.
